- ToonLoop is designed around a parent-curated library: content appears only if a parent adds it.
- Most settings, video lists, and watch-time statistics are stored locally on your device.
- When videos are played, the video provider (e.g., YouTube) receives the requests required to stream content.
- Subscriptions are handled through Apple In-App Purchases and RevenueCat.
Parents/guardians are responsible for selecting appropriate content and supervising use.
1) Data We Collect
Depending on how you use the app, ToonLoop may process the following:
- Parent-curated library data: video links/IDs, channel links/IDs, playlists (if supported), and related metadata needed to display your library.
- Usage data (on-device): watch-time totals, session duration, and basic viewing statistics used to show charts and enforce time limits.
- App settings: time-limit settings, playback preferences, and other configuration.
- Parent Panel access: if you enable a PIN and/or Face ID / Touch ID, related security data may be stored securely on the device (e.g., in iOS Keychain).
- Purchase/subscription data: processed via Apple In-App Purchases and RevenueCat (e.g., entitlement status).
- Diagnostics (optional): logs you may view/copy/share from inside the app to help troubleshoot playback, imports, or purchases.
2) How We Use Data
- Library management: add/remove videos and channels, and show the curated list on the home screen.
- Playback: play videos in a “watch-only” experience (e.g., play/pause) based on the app’s design.
- Time limits: enforce daily/session limits and show remaining time where applicable.
- Statistics: display watch-time summaries to help parents understand usage.
- Pro features: unlock features by checking your subscription entitlement.
- Support: if you choose to share logs/screenshots, we use them to diagnose issues.
3) Where Data Is Stored
On-device storage: Your curated library (video/channel list), settings, and usage statistics are stored locally on your device.
Backups: Depending on your device settings, some app data may be included in OS backups (e.g., iCloud/iTunes backups).
4) Data Sharing (Third Parties)
ToonLoop may use third-party services to provide video playback and subscriptions. When you play a video or import from a channel, necessary requests may be sent to those providers to fulfill the action.
- YouTube / Google (or other providers you add links from): streaming and content delivery.
Video providers may collect IP address, device information, and request metadata as part of normal content delivery. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
- Apple In-App Purchases (StoreKit) for subscription transactions.
- RevenueCat for purchase orchestration, entitlement status, and paywalls/customer center.
RevenueCat typically uses an anonymous app user identifier by default unless you explicitly identify a user.
5) Permissions
- Internet access: required to load and play online videos.
- Face ID / Touch ID (optional): used only if you enable biometric access for the Parent Panel.
- Notifications (optional): may be used for time-limit reminders if enabled in the app.
6) Data Retention
ToonLoop keeps your curated library, settings, and usage statistics on-device until you delete them from within the app or remove the app from your device.
7) Your Choices
- Remove videos/channels from the library at any time.
- Reset or delete watch-time statistics (if available in the app settings).
- Disable notifications in iOS Settings.
- Manage/cancel subscriptions via Apple’s subscription settings or within the app (Customer Center), if available.
8) Security
We take reasonable measures to protect data stored on your device (including using iOS secure storage where appropriate). However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
9) Children’s Privacy
ToonLoop is designed for family use. We do not ask children to provide personal information. Parents/guardians curate the library and control settings. If you choose to play videos from third-party providers, those providers may process network and device data required to deliver content under their own policies.
10) Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will reflect the latest version.
